Sheriff's Service Specialist Shelby McMaster began her career in law enforcement with the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Department in 1989 and in 1997 hired on with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Since then she has worked as a Custody Assistant, Custody Specialist and has been in her current position as a Service Specialist at Rancho Cucamonga since May 2006.

In her current position she was assigned in early 2008 as the station's equipment and inventory control officer. The assignment did not previously exist and her duties were assigned to numerous individuals, which resulted in an inefficient operation. Since her assignment she has taken complete control of theses duties, streamlined processes, ensured accountability and otherwise brought order to a disorderly process. Her attention to detail, hard work and organizational skills made the task seem easy and simple to outside observers, but to those that know she has been a welcome addition.
